Home networking

If you would like it, we will bring every computer in the house onto your home network — desktops and laptops alike — along with everything else that connects.

One network for the whole house

If you want, we will bring every computer in the house onto your home network — the desktops and the laptops together — and with them the phones, tablets, television, printer and anything else that expects a connection. The aim is straightforward: one network that works everywhere in the house, at a sensible speed, without anyone having to think about it.

Most home network trouble is not really about the internet connection at all. It is about coverage, interference from neighbouring networks, a router placed in the wrong corner of the house, or a device still clinging to a distant access point when a closer one is available. Those are all solvable problems once someone looks at them properly.

What the service covers

  • Surveying coverage and finding the dead spots
  • Positioning and configuring the router, or replacing it where it is the limiting factor
  • Adding access points or mesh units for full coverage in a larger home
  • Setting up a separate guest network
  • Wiring points where a cable will serve better than wireless
  • Securing the network with a proper password and up-to-date encryption
  • Connecting a filtered-internet service where that is wanted

Sharing between the machines in the house

Once the network is in place, the machines on it can share what makes sense to share: a printer, a folder of family photographs, a network drive that everyone backs up to. We set that up so it is convenient without being open to the whole world.

Filtered internet

For households that want it, we install and configure a connection through the filtered-internet providers serving the haredi community — Rimon, Netfree or Etrog — across the whole home network rather than device by device.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to replace my router?

Not necessarily. Plenty of coverage problems are solved by moving the existing router and reconfiguring it. We will tell you honestly whether new hardware would actually help before suggesting you buy any.

Can this be done remotely?

Configuration often can be. Surveying coverage, running cable and placing additional access points require a visit — for those we come to you.
